M. Ravel
"Reflections", a cycle of piano pieces
Sonatina in F Sharp Minor

S. S. Prokofiev
Sonata No. 6 in A Major, Op. 82

December 23, 2018
SMALL HALL OF MOSСOW CONSERVATORY

A pianist whose concert I would go every week. And all week would have waited, as a date.

What does Vadim Kholodenko play about? About the feelings hidden behind the musical notes, behind the technical possibilities of pianists, behind the composer's thought, who forgets about them when he composes. Feelings cover you, and you forget about the Small Hall of Conservatory, about a sluggish, but ruthless time, about winter, about Moscow, being released into the space of eternity.

Vadim Kholodenko is my favorite student of Vera Gornostaeva. Diligence and sensitivity hid an incredibly rare talent, which a brilliant teacher revealed, giving us a unique pianist. The best performance of Ravel, which I have ever heard; unique, unrecognizable Prokofiev, who is surprisingly modern and strong when performed so masterly. True emotions do not like superfluous words, different grand piano palyers have something unique that reveals a variety of musical forms, styles, passions, and if you find in yourself that comprehensiveness, rigour, depth and dedication that is heard in the performance of Vadim Kholodenko then you found your artist like me.
